Featured Artist Update

Third Anniversary Issue:
HH rediscovers a few past Featured Artists to find out the latest in their motorcycle world of art.

Carole Bennett has been keeping the adrenaline pumping with her new Adventure series, which turns motorcycles and goddesses into fantasy heroines who are a force to be reckoned with. Also in the works, she will soon be illustrating an online version of a sci-fi novel called “Freelance Vigilante” based on the RPG game by Brian Lane. Wicked Cool!

Michelle Koppien continues to impress us with her signature style of connecting the essence of land and motorcycle in her portraiture. The piece “Soul Searchment” is a dedication of that commitment by intertwining rider, mountains and the spirit of his daughter. Breathtaking. Michelle’s other new endeavors include a floral painting for a calendar layout and designing flaming tattoos.

Lory Lockwood - never a dull moment! The 2007 year had Lory spinning with several press features showcasing her work such as, “Vintage Style” by Devon Jackson of Colorado’s Southwest Arts Magazine, and an on-air interview with Jackie Bishop of WWNO Radio in New Orleans. She was also awarded the prestigious Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant in New York last April. Next on her 2008 itinerary are two shows featuring her Portraits in Chrome artworks: “Velocity” in Minneapolis, MN and “Aubune-Cord-Dusesenberg Museum Show” in Auburn, IN. Come November, she will host a solo opening in New Orleans entitled “Marilyn and The Dreamgirls,” which will exhibit her alluring mannequin pieces. Mesmerizing!

Tira Mitchell engraver elite, spent most of 2007 fine tuning her craft. In the fall, she was chosen by the Grand Masters of Engraving to study at the GRS Training Center in Emporia, Kansas where engravers worldwide come to share and hone their skills. To add to her repertoire, Tira studied intensive stone setting and a new form of western engraving known as bit and spur. She is thrilled to enhance her motorcycle engraving ensemble with some sparkling gems and western swing. This just in: Tira is proud to announce that she will be teaching her first class as guest instructor at the GRS Training Center this May.
